  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 45 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup strawberry preserves
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
  • Rainbow sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling by mixing strawberries, lemon juice, lemon zest, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl; let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. In a food processor, blend flour, salt, and sugar; add cold butter until crumbly. Gradually mix in cold water until dough forms.
  3. Roll out the dough into rectangles and spoon filling onto half of each rectangle; top with another piece of dough and seal edges.
  4. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Cool slightly before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with cream.
