  • 4 Chicken Leg Quarters (Bone In, Skin On)
  • 1/4 cup Barbecue Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Oregano

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, chili powder, black pepper, and oregano to create the rub.
  2. Rinse chicken quarters under cold water and pat dry. Generously rub the spice mixture over the chicken.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400 degrees Fahrenheit), turning off center burners for indirect cooking.
  4. Place chicken on the indirect heat side of the grill and cook for approximately 40-50 minutes, flipping every 10 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. Move chicken to direct heat side of the grill, baste with barbecue sauce on both sides, and grill for an additional 2-3 minutes per side until caramelized.
  6. Remove from heat and let rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
