Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup cold unsalted butter (cubed)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup ice-cold water

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the cold butter and blend using a pastry blender or your fingers until crumbly.
  2. In a separate jug, mix the apple cider vinegar with ice-cold water. Gradually add this mixture to the flour and butter blend until a cohesive dough forms. Shape into a ball, divide into two disks, wrap in foil, and chill in the refrigerator for one hour.
  3. Roll out one disk between two sheets of baking parchment until it’s slightly larger than a 9-inch pie dish. Place into a greased pie dish and chill again before filling.
