Scale
  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts
  • 1 tbsp olive or avocado oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tbsp olive or avocado oil
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 1/2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • Pinch of Korean-style red pepper (optional)
  • Chopped cilantro and/or sesame seeds for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F or your oven to 400°F.
  2. 2. In a mixing bowl, combine halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil and salt; toss to coat.
  3. 3. If using an air fryer: Place Brussels sprouts in the basket and cook for 6 minutes; toss halfway through. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until crispy.
  4. 4. If baking: Arrange on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for about 18-22 minutes, tossing halfway through until golden brown.
  5. 5. While cooking, prepare the sauce by combining BBQ sauce, coconut aminos, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and salt in a small saucepan over medium heat. Sauté for about one minute.
  6. 6. Add the cooked Brussels sprouts to the saucepan and stir until evenly coated.
  7. 7. For extra crispiness, return coated sprouts to the air fryer or baking sheet for an additional 2-3 minutes before serving.
