  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Drain the canned peaches and place them in a greased 9×13 baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, combine the drained peaches with flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir gently.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt for the topping.
  5. Mix egg yolk and buttermilk in a small bowl; combine with dry ingredients until a shaggy dough forms.
  6. Spread the topping evenly over the peaches and scatter butter slices on top.
  7. Sprinkle an additional tablespoon of sugar over everything.
  8. Bake for 30–40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
