  • 1 lb ground chicken or turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian-seasoned)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz pasta of choice

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground chicken or turkey with breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and Italian seasoning. Form small meatballs (about golf ball size).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides (7-10 minutes) and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté diced onions until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  4. Add crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and more Italian seasoning to the onions; bring to a simmer. Return meatballs to the pan and simmer everything together for about 20 minutes.
  5. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain.
  6. Toss cooked pasta into the sauce with meatballs, stir gently to combine, and serve with garnish if desired.
