  • 48 pieces Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or your favorite nuts
  • Optional: ½ cup crushed Heath Bar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Prepare a cookie sheet lined with saltine crackers.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and dark brown sugar until boiling. Let boil for exactly 3 minutes without stirring.
  3. Pour the hot toffee sauce over the saltines, spreading it evenly. Bake for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Allow to sit for 5 minutes to melt, then spread evenly.
  5. Top with chopped pecans and crushed Heath Bar if desired. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
