  • 1 small head of cabbage
  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef or turkey
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the cabbage into thick slices and brush both sides with olive oil. Arrange on the baking sheet.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and egg (if using). Mix until well combined.
  4. Shape patties from the meat mixture and press onto each cabbage slice.
  5. Bake for about 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle cheese on top.
  6. Broil on high for an additional 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
  7. Serve with your choice of toppings.
