  • 1 3/4 cups warm water (105-115°F)
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (approx. 2 1/4 tsp)
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 jar raspberry preserves
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 24 tbsp whole milk

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Stir until dissolved, then sprinkle yeast on top and allow it to foam for about 5-10 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix bread flour, all-purpose flour, and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture along with olive oil; mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  5. Punch down the dough and transfer it to a greased baking sheet; stretch it evenly and let rise again for another 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Create dimples in the dough and spread raspberry preserves over it.
  7. Bake for approximately 20-22 minutes or until golden brown; cool slightly before icing with confectioners' sugar mixed with milk.
