  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup fresh ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped flat-leaf parsley
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ricotta cheese, parsley, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs bake, heat crushed tomatoes in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in dried oregano and let simmer.
  6. Once baked, gently add the meatballs to the sauce and let them soak for about five minutes before serving.
