Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup water
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup strong coffee
  • ¼ cup milk (or plant-based alternative)
  • ¼ cup heavy cream (or coconut cream)
  • 1 tablespoon gingerbread syrup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. To make the gingerbread syrup, combine water, sugar, molasses, ground ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a saucepan. Bring to a boil while stirring until the sugar dissolves. Cool and store in an airtight container.
  2. For the gingerbread cream topping, whisk together one tablespoon of gingerbread syrup with heavy cream until soft peaks form using a handheld frother.
  3. Heat milk until it simmers (do not boil). Froth the milk using a French press or frother.
  4. In a mug, stir together strong coffee and two tablespoons of gingerbread syrup. Add frothed milk on top and finish with the gingerbread cream topping.
