  • 1 heaping cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons chai spice blend
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • Pinch of kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, one egg, and one egg yolk; set aside.
  3. In a food processor, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, chai spice blend, and salt. Pulse to mix.
  4. Add cold butter cubes and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Gradually add the cream mixture while pulsing until dough forms.
  6. Shape into a disc and chill in the freezer for about 30 minutes.
  7. Roll out dough on a floured surface; cut into wedges or triangles.
  8. Brush with reserved egg white and bake for 20–22 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Prepare glaze by whisking powdered sugar, chai spice blend, vanilla extract, cream, maple syrup, and salt until smooth.
  10. Dip warm scones into glaze and allow them to set before serving.
