This rich and indulgent brownie pie features crisp, crackly edges with a soft, fudgy center packed with melted chocolate. It’s baked like a pie but delivers the deep, decadent flavor of a classic brownie—perfect served warm or chilled with a drizzle of hot fudge.

Ingredients

Scale

6 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided
3 large eggs, at room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. reheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a pie plate or 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a heat-safe bowl, melt the butter with 2 cups of the chocolate chips until smooth, using a microwave or double boiler. Stir until fully combined, then let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract on medium-high speed for about 3 minutes, until the mixture becomes pale and fluffy.
  4. Gradually add the cooled melted chocolate mixture, mixing until fully incorporated.
  5. Gently fold in the flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in the remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top evenly.
  8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the edges are set and the center remains slightly soft.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow the pie to cool completely before slicing.
  10. Serve as is or with warm hot fudge on top.
