  • 2 cups sugar
  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • ¼ cup water
  • Red food coloring

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly before inserting sticks into their tops.
  2. Line a baking sheet with wax paper and lightly coat it with cooking spray.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Attach a candy thermometer and cook over medium heat until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in red food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  5. Dip each apple into the hot candy mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Repeat dipping for a thicker coat if desired.
  6. Place on the prepared baking sheet to cool and set.
