Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 oranges
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 2/3 cups water
  • Spices (cinnamon, cloves, star anise)
  • Your preferred chocolate for coating

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the oranges into 0.3-inch rounds. Optionally, boil in water for 5-10 minutes to reduce bitterness.
  2. In a pot, combine sugar, spices, and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add orange slices and cook on low heat for about 1.5 hours.
  4. Drain excess syrup and place slices on paper towels to dry, then arrange them on a baking sheet.
  5. Preheat your oven to 212°F (100°C) and bake the slices for 30 minutes total (flipping halfway).
  6. Once cooled, dip each slice in melted chocolate until well coated and let set on parchment paper.
