  • 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter with sugars until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  4. Gradually stir dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Press dough evenly into a greased and lined 9-inch cake pan.
  6. Bake for 23–28 minutes until edges are golden brown and center is set but soft.
  7. Cool for about 15 minutes before frosting.
  8. For the buttercream, beat softened butter until creamy, gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in cream and vanilla.
