Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (237 g) water, warmed (about 105°-110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • ⅓ cup (75 g) vegetable oil, divided
  • 2 ½ cups (312.5 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling (or about 2 cups homemade filling)
  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup (133 g) granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 1 cup (125 g) confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tablespoon whole milk
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it rest for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Pour in half of the vegetable oil from the measured amount and set aside the rest.
  3. Add all-purpose flour and kosher salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until you form a soft dough.
  4. Transfer the dough into a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  6. Line a 12-inch pizza pan with parchment paper. Pour remaining vegetable oil onto the pan.
  7. Transfer risen dough onto the prepared pan.
  8. Use fingers to spread out the dough evenly across the pan edges, creating dimples on top.
  9. Bake for about 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  10. Combine melted butter and granulated sugar in a small bowl.
  11. Brush this mixture evenly over the baked crust.
  12. Spread cherry pie filling evenly over the crust.
  13. In another medium bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, and kosher salt.
  14. Stir in melted butter until clumps form.
  15. Sprinkle crumble evenly over cherry filling.
  16. Return pizza to oven and bake for an additional 13-15 minutes until topping is golden brown.
  17. In a small bowl, whisk confectioners' sugar, whole milk, and almond extract until smooth.
  18. Drizzle glaze over warm cherry dessert pizza.
  19. Allow cooling for about 5-10 minutes before slicing to allow flavors to meld together perfectly.
