  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 (15 ounce cans) great northern beans (drained)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add cubed chicken and cook until browned (about 5–7 minutes).
  2. Stir in diced onion, celery, bell pepper, and jalapeño; cook for 5 minutes until softened.
  3. Mix in minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and flour; stir for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Gradually pour in chicken broth and add drained great northern beans; bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and serve hot.
