  • 2 pounds chicken breasts or thighs, cubed
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • Black pepper and chili flakes
  • 1/4 cup flour or gluten-free flour
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter or extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/3 cup tamari or soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste
  • 6 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine chicken cubes with garlic powder, black pepper, chili flakes, and flour until well coated. Drizzle with melted butter or olive oil and mix again.
  3. Spread seasoned chicken on one side of the baking sheet.
  4. Toss broccoli florets with remaining butter or olive oil, salt, and pepper; place on the other side of the sheet.
  5. Bake for 10-15 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix tamari (or soy sauce), hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, chili paste, chopped garlic, ground ginger, and sesame oil.
  7. Once chicken is done baking, remove broccoli and pour sauce over chicken; toss to coat thoroughly.
  8. Return to oven for an additional 5 minutes.
  9. Serve over rice or noodles garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
